The Green Skills Youth Conference 2026 is on November 6th in Chester and West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce is proud to support it as part of the Young Chamber programme. This annual regional event held near Chester brings together secondary schools, colleges and employers to explore the fast‑growing world of green careers, from renewable energy and environmental science to sustainable construction, transport and digital innovation.

With demand for green skills in the North West and Wales expected to rise from 20,000 to 40,000 over the next four years, this conference helps young people understand the opportunities ahead through hands‑on workshops, employer engagement and a dedicated careers fair.

Sarah Bailey, CEO of West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce said; “The conference will connect young people to jobs, skills and training opportunities in high value, innovative and growing employment sectors.”

Jane Harrad-Roberts, Project Director of the Green Skills Youth Conference added; “We have 19 schools booked on and SP Energy as main sponsors with space for one more sponsor and a few more companies at the careers fair. They are looking forward to partnering with the Chamber for an exciting day of workshops and games in the morning, discussion on careers and the bigger picture at lunchtime, and a careers fair in the afternoon with leading, local organisations across a complete span of sectors.”

There are a number of ways to get involved:

  • Free Student Tickets – Schools, academies and colleges attend free (with a refundable £250 booking fee). Home educated students are also invited from Year 9 upwards.
