The winners boards for the 2026 competition are now on display at Chester Cathedral until July 2nd when they transfer into the Cathedral Cloisters to remain on show until July 23rd and possibly beyond. The nine boards – Young, Professional and Photographer of the Year – with 3 categories – Progress to Net Zero, Climate Change and Nature’s Resilience – make an excellent ‘photo trail’, on show to locals and visitors to the city alike.
A record number of entries were received this, the fourth year of the competition, from as far away as Turkey and India. The five judges deliberated long and hard before making their final decisions. We receive a growing number of entries from all over the world too, but which have to have some connection to Cheshire, North Wales and the North West.
Thank you to all our sponsors and supporters, including this year for the first time WD as the main sponsor for this year’s competition, noting that the company’s G-DRIVE® solutions are widely used by professional photographers for reliable, high-performance external storage. The partnership supports ambitions for continued growth while providing a strong platform for creative talent.
Nicolas Frapard, Sales Director, EMEAI at WD added, “We’re excited to partner with Green Expo and support an initiative that brings sustainability and creativity into focus. Empowering creators to capture and share stories of environmental progress aligns closely with WD’s commitment to innovation and a greener future.”
