Encirc
Encirc is a market leader in glass container design, manufacturing, bottling and logistics. The company works with some of the biggest and most sustainable brands in the food and beverages sectors.
Encirc employs more than 1,750 people from its three purpose-built sites in Derrylin, Northern Ireland, Elton, Cheshire, England, and Corsico, Italy, and produces more than 4 billion glass bottles and containers every year.
Sustainability is at the core of everything Encirc does, with the company focusing its activities around four main pillars, people, planet, place and prosperity.
Encirc’s parent company, Vidrala, recently announced its ambition to create the world’s first net-zero glass containers and reduce its emissions in line with Science-Based Targets. These are ambitious commitments created to safeguard the company’s future and make good on its long-term duty to protect its people and the planet.
In 2021, Encirc made waves in the glass sector by creating the world’s most sustainable glass bottles in a ground-breaking trial. The trial saw bottles created using low carbon biofuel as a fuel source and up to 100% recycled glass, reducing carbon emissions by up to 90% for each container.
Adrian Curry, Managing Director of Encirc says;
“The Green Expo is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase our ambition to become the most sustainable glass manufacturer in the world in one of the communities we call home.
“Over the last few years, we’ve helped bring hydrogen fuel to the North West, and will be investing over the next period as we strive to achieve our science-based targets by 2030.
“At Encirc, we firmly believe in supporting the next generation of manufacturing talent and the Youth Conference will offer us the perfect place to show young people the vast array of opportunities available to them in an ambitious and thriving business.”
