Green Expo Youth Conference 2024
The 2024 Green Expo Youth Conference was held during Green Careers Week based on discussion, debate and collective problem-solving.
We want young people from across the region to see their place in a Net Zero future. Students from secondary schools, colleges and further education were invited to design the futures they want to see for the region, including the roles they want to play through their future career choices.
The focus for the morning was workshops on how we can all tackle the climate and nature emergencies and the decarbonisation challenge simultaneously with education materials developed and tested by ChesterCAN (Chester Climate Action Network), Chester Zoo and the University of Chester. There were sessions on careers in the early afternoon with Q&A panel speakers, then a careers fair where students can ask and learn about green skills and jobs.
Teachers were involved too, with advice from The Cheshire and Warrington Pledge Partnership.

The Green Revolution
"We have to work together collaboratively to achieve such a massive shift in our behaviour, on energy use, consumption and waste."
The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new."

The Climate Change Revolution
"If we look after the Earth only then will the Earth be able to look after us. The cost of inaction is far greater than the cost of prevention. Find practical ways of overcoming differences so we can all get down to work together to rescue this precious planet and save the threatened future of our young people." King Charles III
